Milk=Best

Z went to daycare today. Phew! It's my sanity saving day:) Fun kid, but the energy it takes to corral a 2 year old all day while looking after a 6 week old. Lord have mercy. So Thursday is the day I get a bit of a "break"...we'll use that term really loosely because I still have W at home with me all day. So it's a semi-ish-break.

Regardless, the point of this post is that, on the way home from daycare I asked Z what his favourite part of his day was. Prior to this he told me all about the colouring and storybooks and playing and time-outs (ahem) that had made up his day at daycare. I was looking forward to what the best part of his day was. Instead...

Best part of the day?
Z:
Drinking my milk.

HUH? Drinking milk? You drink milk every day!!! Are you sure? Are you SURE?

Yup. Drinking his milk was the best part of his day. He was 100% sure.
OOOOOOOO-K.

Best part of the day?
Me:
Finding Z, quiet as a mouse, sitting on our couch in the living room, "reading" a Dora book out loud to W. And holding it out so W could see the pictures. Too bad W was asleep;)

Best Part of the Day

What was the best part of your day?

I ask Z this every evening as we have supper together. He usually says the last thing we did that day. Sometimes he says a person who we may have hung out with during that day. Occassionaly, he remembers something really fun from the day before and mentions that...

I love this short conversation that takes place every evening. Love it. It's so fun to find out what my kiddo enjoys and remembers from our days together. I know that with the arrival of W, there have been more meltdown and temper tantrums and "I DON'T WANT TO"s then ever. Some days I feel like all Z and I do is fight with eachother and I hate it. So when I ask him what the best part of the day was and he has an answer, well, it makes me feel like the effort was all worth it.

All that being said, I'd love to share with you the best part of our day today. In fact, I'd love to share the best part of our day on every blog post. Because, with a 6 week old and a 27 month old at home with me 24/7, I sometimes forget the nuggets of amazingness that occur during our day.

Best part of today?
Beautiful baby smiles from my (almost) 6 week old. Gosh, he's cute.

I'm BACK!

After almost 2 years of blogging on Urbanmoms.ca, I have come back to my original blog! I have missed Sleeping is for Losers and am so happy to be back, posting random pictures, thoughts, ideas, and ramblings.

Thanks to anyone who has read my blog(s) over the years. My, things have changed.

I'm now a mom of TWO!!! Z is 27 months and the most amazing toddler to ever walk the face of the planet! W is 1 month old and the sweetest little boo-boo bear. I just adore his little smile and sweet disposition.

Aren't they beautiful? I can't get over how amazing my kiddos are!

So, since we last talked, I got pregnant, had my second son, moved into a new house, stopped working...so much has changed yet life has seamlessly moved along and everything has fallen into place, just like it should.

I'm sure there are some major life events I'm missing, but in the meantime, can't wait to reconnect with you all!!!
